The NSS Unit–2 of Acharya Narendra Dev Nagar Nigam Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Harsh Nagar, Kanpur, organized a Filaria Awareness Programme on 14 January 2026 with the participation of 60 students. The programme aimed to support public health efforts for the prevention and elimination of lymphatic filariasis. An awareness session was conducted to educate students and community members about the causes, symptoms, transmission, and prevention of filariasis, with special emphasis on mosquito control and the importance of Mass Drug Administration (MDA). This was followed by an awareness rally, during which NSS volunteers raised slogans and displayed placards to spread key messages on disease prevention and environmental cleanliness. The programme enhanced awareness about filariasis, encouraged community participation in health initiatives, and helped inculcate values of social responsibility, leadership, and service among students, contributing positively to public health awareness and welfare.
