150th Anniversary of “Vande Mataram”
Collective Singing at ANDNNMM, Harshnagar, Kanpur**
Kanpur, 8 November 2025 — The iconic national song “Vande Mataram,” symbolizing India’s freedom consciousness and cultural pride, completed 150 years today. To mark this historic occasion, Acharya Narendra Dev Nagar Nigam Mahila Mahavidyalaya (ANDNNMM), Harshnagar, Kanpur, organized a collective singing ceremony filled with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
Students and faculty members of the college, along with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-II, joined together in a unified voice to sing Vande Mataram. The entire campus echoed with feelings of nationalism, unity, and respect for India’s rich cultural heritage.
Under the guidance of Dr. Jaya Bharti, Programme Officer, NSS Unit-II, the event was conducted following the directives of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh on the completion of 150 years of the song Vande Mataram. The programme was successfully celebrated as part of the government’s “First Phase” initiative.
The event concluded with all participants raising spirited chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” expressing their pride, devotion, and respect toward the nation. In recognition of the dedication and disciplined service of NSS volunteers during the Vande Mataram event, appropriate refreshments were organized. This gesture aimed to support their engagement, boost morale, and create a positive and encouraging environment for all participants.
