School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi, and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) is one of the leading institutes offering Pharmacy education. The foundation of the department was laid in the year 2004 to disseminate Pharmacy education to those who desire to cater the society and country as an integral part of the healthcare community. The department started with B. Pharm. (4 Years) course in 2004, subsequently M. Pharm. (2 Years) course in two specialisations viz Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, was started in 2012, and D. Pharm. (2 Years) course was started in 2018. M.Pharm in Pharmacology specialization is added in 2020. The learned faculty of department understands the responsibility of teacher as an educator and believes in providing meaningful constructive education to the students. The department has been successful in maintaining high level of education which is reflected by placement of nearly all the passed students with excellence in their areas of interest and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) - a national level examination.

The scope of pharmacy includes more traditional roles such as compounding and dispensing of medications, and it also includes more modern services related to health care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information. Pharmacy is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences, and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effective use of medication. The scope of pharmacy practice includes compounding and dispensing medications, and it also related to more modern services like patient care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy, and providing drug information. Well modern pharmacy profession have number of ways to mould the career. They can go for R&D, F&D, Toxicology, Clinical and Preclinical trials and clinical research, Quality control and assurance, IPR, DRA, biopharmaceutics, kinetic studies, marketing, Teaching professional and also in Information technology (as medical writer etc.).. A person with pharmacy graduate can also go for Drug inspector, Government Analyst which is government jobs. So, lot of fields and vacancies are available for Pharmacy graduates.
