Kanpur, June 21, 2025 \u2014 The Samarpan NSS Unit of Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur organized a grand celebration on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Namrata Pandey, Program Officer of the NSS Unit. The event was conducted in alignment with the National Service Scheme\u2019s objectives of promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being among students and the community.The celebration commenced early in the morning with a collective yoga session held in the college premises. Trained yoga instructors guided students and volunteers through various asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices, emphasizing the theme of the year \u2014 \u201cYoga for Harmony and Peace.\u201d Over 100 NSS volunteers participated enthusiastically, showcasing dedication to holistic health and community awareness.Dr. Namrata Pandey, addressing the gathering, highlighted the importance of yoga as a way of life and its relevance in promoting mental balance and inner strength among youth. She motivated the students to integrate yoga into their daily routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a positive outlook.The event also featured a brief awareness talk on the scientific benefits of yoga, followed by a pledge ceremony, where all participants resolved to spread awareness about yoga in their local communities. The college principal appreciated the initiative taken by the Samarpan NSS Unit for organizing such an enriching and disciplined program that aligned with the vision of the National Service Scheme and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all faculty members, volunteers, and participants who contributed to making the day a grand success.
